How do I get this on my TV?

The games run in the browser of whatever opens party.joto.games, and that screen is what the room sees. Three ways to put it on the TV, the surest first.

  1. A laptop and an HDMI cable Most reliable

Plug the laptop into the TV, open party.joto.games on it and start a room. Every game runs, the 3D ones included, with no delay between the screen and the phones.

  2. Cast a tab from the laptop

In Chrome: the ⋮ menu, Cast…, then Cast tab to a Chromecast or Google TV. On a Mac, AirPlay the screen to an Apple TV. The laptop still runs the game and the TV shows it a moment behind — fine for quizzes and drawing, a cable is better for the fast games.

  3. The TV's own browser

We have not tested any TV's built-in browser yet. Some open party.joto.games, but the games with their own 3D picture need a laptop's browser. If a game will not start, use a laptop.

    Questions

Do we need to download anything?

No. The room runs in the browser of the TV or laptop and everyone else joins from their phone's browser. A phone can keep JoTo on its home screen if you like, but nothing needs it.

    Do we need an account?

No. A phone needs a room code and a name, and that is all.

    How many players?

Every game sets its own range of players, shown on its card above. The room code is the same for all of them.

Can we play from different places?

Not yet. Party is for people in one room looking at one screen, each with a phone in hand.

    What does the TV need?

A browser. A laptop on an HDMI cable is the surest; the ways to get it on a TV are above. Each player needs a phone with a browser.
